But now that we've got shitty compression numbers, I think it's pretty obvious there are either major problems (likely) or the timing is somehow off. (pray for timing belt to be slightly off at a couple spots and hope like hell nothing got bent) Question for Andrew. How long was this motor apart? Did you check compression before you put the engine in the car? By hand? Or is this the very first time you've tested for compression - using the starter to turn the crank? Or did you also test for compression immediately once the engine was in the car? If so, values at that time were what?
